Meteor Showers & The Christmas Star

Welcome in the Winter Solstice

Today is December 21, 2020 – the beginning of winter in the Northern Hemisphere and the beginning of summer in the southern hemisphere – (shout out to my Aussie friends).

The Grand Conjunction – the Christmas Star

Also on this is the day, Jupiter and Saturn form a conjunction or pair-up, as I like to say, an event that brings these two planets together once every twenty years.  Jupiter and Saturn just recently moved into the sign of Aquarius.  This conjunction will be visible from Earth appearing as one single object, and given nickname, the Christmas Star.

These conjunctions have been occurring over and over in Earth signs for almost 200 years.  When they get stuck on an element, they really stick to it.  However, Aquarius is an air sign, and at the least this conjunction and the next two conjunctions (2040 and 2060) will occur in air signs as well.  This isn’t exactly the Age of Aquarius, but as the old Fifth Dimension song that came out in 1969 might suggest – “this is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.”  It’s just the beginning.

Aquarius is a somewhat socially distant sign (sound familiar) – so are we in for more masking and social distancing in our future?  Luckily as free-will humans, we get to decide the direction we take, and I don’t think that’s what we want.   Likely, it will translate into more of us working from home.

What I do know is that what we will begin to see is more Artificial Intelligence, or  “AI,” in our world.  Smart computers and smart TVs are already on the scene.  Not only do they follow instructions, but in some instances they are already making decisions.  Even the old TIVO used to guess at what television shows you liked based on your preferences.   Does it have to be a scary time in our future – not if we keep a handle on it.

What I do see is the emergence of crypto currency as the norm rather than reliance on the paper money we’ve come to know, love and sometimes loathe.

Meteor Showers

December 21 through December 22, 2020

In addition to viewing the Grand Conjunction in sky, the Ursid Meteor Shower also will be visible in the Northern Hemisphere between the second half of Monday night into the early hours of Tuesday morning.

There are more big changes afoot in our world – both socially and politically.  More is due to unfold and soon, so stay tuned for more goings on in our Universe.
